Strussell Baked Donuts

These taste like Entenmann's!  Really good with a nice crumble.  Would be good just in powdered sugar, too.

1 c flour
1/2 t baking soda
1/4 t salt
1/8 t nutmeg
1/4 c oil
1/2 c sour cream
1/3 c sugar
1 egg
1/2 t vanilla

Preheat the oven to 350'.  Lightly grease donut pan (6 regular or 12 mini).  In a bowl, whisk together dry ingredients.  In another bowl, mix the wet ingredients, then pour into the dry ingredients.  Mix just until combined (will be lumpy).  Spoon batter into the pans, filling them 2/3 full.  Bake for 12-15 minutes, until just starting to brown on the edges.  Let cool for a couple minutes in the pan, then transfer to a wire cooling rack to finish cooling.  Then make the crumb topping...

3 T butter
1/4 c brown sugar
1 t cinnamon
1/8 t salt
3/4 c flour

In a pan on low heat, melt butter.  Stir in sugar, cinnamon, and salt.  Then add flour, and continue to cool for 2-3 minutes.  It will get super thick and hard.  Once done, remove and put into a bowl.  Once cool enough to handle, use your fingers to break it into pea sized pieces.  Let cool completely.  Then pick up handfuls, and rub them between your hands to make into a good crumble/strussell.  This may take some time, but gets a great consistency.

2 c powdered sugar
1 t cinnamon
1 t vanilla
up to 1/4 c milk

Mix to combine and make glaze.  Then dip the tops of the donuts in the glaze, then press into crumb mixture.  Let cool for glaze to harden.
