Chocolate Frosted Baked Donuts

This is pretty good one.  A little more cake-y, and stable enough for a real frosting, sprinkles, toppings, etc.  May be able to make it vanilla with a few tweaks.

1 c flour
1/2 c brown sugar
1/2 t salt
1/4 c cocoa powder
3/4 t baking powder
1/4 t baking soda
1 t vanilla
1/2 c sour cream
3 T butter, melted
1 egg
2 T milk

Preheat oven to 350'.  Lightly grease donut pan(s) - makes about 8 regular or 16 mini (-ish.  It was too much for just 6 reg ones, so this is a guess).  In a large bowl, mix the dry ingredients.  In another bowl, wish the wet ingredients together, then add to the dry ingredients.  Mix until just combined - will be lumpy.  Spoon mixture into donut pans, filling them 2/3 full.  Bake 10-15 minutes, until springy to the touch.  Cool for a few minutes in the pan, then on a wire cooling rack until cooled.

Chocolate Frosting

4 oz chocolate chips
2 T butter
1/4 c sour cream
1 c powdered sugar
1-2 T milk
sprinkles (optional)

In a bowl, melt butter and chocolate chips, 20 seconds at a time, until smooth.  Add half the sugar, sour cream and mix.  Then add the rest of the sugar and the milk, mixing until smooth.  Dip each donut into the frosting, adding sprinkles if desired, and let sit until hardened.
