This is a good base recipe for a glazed donut. Cinnamon/sugar, or try a lemon glaze or a sugar glaze. I'm still experimenting.
1 c flour
1/4 c + 2 T sugar
1 t baking powder
1/8 t salt
1/4 c + 2 T buttermilk (make with milk and vinegar)
1 T oil
1 large egg
Preheat oven to 425'. Spray donut pan (makes 6 reg or 12 mini). In a bowl, mix dry ingredients. In another bowl, whisk buttermilk, oil, and egg. Add wet ingredients to dry and mix until just combined. Spoon into donut pan and fill 2/3 full. Bake for 8-9 minutes (tops will be light, bottoms will be golden brown, and will be springy). Cool in pan for 5-10 minutes, then place on a wire rack to cool completely. Once completely cooled, you can add a glaze
Cinnamon/Sugar Glaze
2 T butter, melted
cinnamon/sugar mixture
Dip donuts in butter on both sides, then coat in cinnamon/sugar mixture on both sides. Let sit to dry.
