Peppermint Fudge

This is basically a variation on the traditional fudge recipe found on the marshmallow creme container (fantasy fudge).  But hey, why mess with the best?
3 c sugar
1/2 c butter
2/3 c evaporated milk
12 oz milk chocolate chips (1 bag)
1 7 oz jar marshmallow creme
1 t vanilla
1 c crushed peppermint sticks or candy canes
Grease or parchment paper line a 9x13 pan.  Combine sugar, butter and milk in a large pot.  Bring to a soft ball, 234', stirring constantly.  Remove from heat.  Add chocolate slowly and stir until melted.  Add creme and vanilla.  Stir until blended.  Add crushed peppermint and mix.  Pour into 9x13 pan.  Let cool.  Once completely cooled you can cut it.
Warning if you double the batch and only use one pan, it will be thick and won't really harden to be sliced too well - but it will last for weeks.  ;)
