Persimmon Cookies

This is a great recipe from my grandmother.

1 t baking soda

1 c persimmon pulp

1 c sugar

½ c butter

1 egg, beaten

2 c flour

1 t cinnamon

½ t nutmeg

¼ t cloves

½ t salt

½ t vanilla

1 c walnuts, chopped

1 c raisins

Beat persimmon pulp sprinkled with soda, sugar and shortening until creamy. Add egg, flour, spices, vanilla, nuts and raisins. Drop by spoonfuls on greased baking sheet. Bake at 375 for 12-15 mins. Makes about 3 dozen.
