Golden Tilapia

4 T brown sugar

3 T soy sauce

3 T water

2 T lemon juice

1 t cloves

2 t ginger

2 t garlic salt

3-4 tilapia filets

Simmer in saucepan over medium heat the sugar, soy sauce, water and lemon juice. Add cloves, ginger and garlic and cook until sauce is reduced by half. Allow sauce to cool, then marinate the fillets in ¾ of sauce for 30 minutes in the fridge. Remove filets fro marinade. Add salt and pepper if desired. Preheat oven to 375’. Heat skillet to medium high and sauté filets for about 2 minutes on each side, until golden brown. Reheat remaining sauce. Pour remaining sauce over the fish. Place filets in baking dish and finish in oven for 5-7 minutes.
